Role: Producer, Cinematographer, Editor

In Los Angeles County’s juvenile detention centers, it’s easy for teenagers to fall into being defined solely by the missteps that got them there. Many come from rough circumstances and arrive with low self-esteem and little sense of better alternatives available to them.   The nonprofit Arts for Incarcerated Youth Network brings in arts organizations to try to broaden these young people’s horizons, to help them think differently and see alternatives instead of just dead ends. The Juvenile Justice Arts Project is a collaboration between the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, Los Angeles County Department of Probation, and the Arts for Incarcerated Youth Network. The Arts for Incarcerated Youth Network members currently are: The Actors' Gang, Armory Center for the Arts, ArtworxLA, Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory, Dance For Healing, Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles, InsideOut Writers, Jail Guitar Doors, Rhythm Arts Alliance, Street Poets Inc., Somos LA Arte, Tia Chucha's Centro Cultural, Unusual Suspects Theatre Company, Versa-Style Dance, WriteGirl/Bold Ink Writers.
